Myomectomy, which is the surgical removal of fibroid tumors while leaving the uterus intact, is a common alternative to a hysterectomy for treating fibroids. Myomectomy is often performed using traditional open surgery by making a large incision in the lower abdomen. Laparoscopic myomectomy is a minimally invasive alternative to open surgery, but it is usually not an option for women with large, multiple, or difficult to reach fibroids. You may be a candidate for da Vinci® myomectomy: a minimally invasive, uterine-sparing procedure.

Benefits of da Vinci® Myomectomy compared to traditional surgery:

  • Significantly less pain
  • Less blood loss
  • Minimally invasive
  • Fewer complications and risk of infection
  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Faster recovery
  • Smaller incisions for great cosmetic results
